Greetings from all of us at CGC.
It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.
Allow me to share with you CGC’s major initiatives undertaken in 2015 in line with our vision to be an effective financial institution dedicated to promoting the growth and development of competitive and dynamic Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). As the SMEs are the engine of growth for the nation’s economy, we at CGC are continuously striving to enhance our products and services to fulfill SME’s financing needs to start or expand their business. We formed strategic alliances with various financial institutions (FIs) in ensuring greater access to financing for the SMEs. We have also undertaken several initiatives in reaching out to the SME community all over the country through our ‘Klinik Usahawan’, participation at seminars, exhibitions and conferences organised by Bank Negara Malaysia, SME Corp and other government agencies. About 3,800 entrepreneurs benefited from these events. Please click here if you wish to read more on our events.
I am also pleased to share that our website is available in four (4) main languages namely Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Tamil and English. This enables us to better disseminate information on our products and services to our stakeholders. On the International front, our Islamic Wholesale Guarantee (WG-i) scheme was awarded the ‘Development Award 2015’ under the SME Development category by the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) in May 2015. In June 2015, our BizMula-i direct financing product for Start-ups also received an international recognition for Best Innovation in Financial Services at The Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Award awards ceremony, which was held in conjunction with the Global Sustainable Finance Conference in Karlsruhe, Germany.
We have also continued to extend our appreciation to our strategic partners in the finance industry by awarding the CGC’s Top SME Supporter Awards in recognition of their valued contribution towards SME financing. For the first time, we have also participated as one of the main sponsors of The Star Business Outstanding Awards (SOBA) 2015 to demonstrate our support to the upcoming and successful SMEs in Malaysia.
Encouraged by the success of our BizMula-i which was launched in May 2014, we launched our BizWanita-i, another innovative direct-financing product for women entrepreneurs in October 2015. This product is specifically designed to empower women entrepreneurs and women-led businesses to grow and expand while achieving financial independence and success.
In December 2015, we launched our latest direct-financing product, namely the Special Assistance Scheme (SAS-i) to assist our existing customers in alleviating their financial challenges in the event of a natural disaster. Through SAS-i, we provide financing for asset acquisition and working capital to enable our customers to recover and resume their business operations soon after the occurrence of any natural disasters, such as floods during the monsoon season.
Giving back to the society is also part of CGC’s DNA as we strive to reach out to underprivileged members of our society. We organised a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programmes in conjunction with major festivals and celebrations and also in support of other causes. And we plan to continue our community outreach programmes this year and reach out to a wider cross-section of our fellow Malaysians who are in need of moral and financial support.
Last but not least, on behalf of all my colleagues, I would like to thank our clients and stakeholders for their continued trust and support towards CGC. The year 2016 will have its challenges, but I am positive that with our commitment and dedication, we will be able to achieve more this year.
Wasalam / Warmest Regards,
Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak
